Essex County Council is offering assistance for EU, EEA and Swiss citizens, who need to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to continue living in the UK after 30th June 2021. 

This is available to individuals who do not have the appropriate access, skills or confidence to complete the online application form.

To make the process easier for residents, ECC is offering an ID document scanning service and have set up secure mobile devices at Chelmsford, Basildon and Harlow Libraries which can access the app. There is also a device at Colchester Library where Colchester Borough Council will be offering the same service. Applicants can download the EU Exit ID Checkout app to their own device or use the library device.

All enquiries about this service should be directed to one of the four libraries above.  Staff at these libraries will have the training to assist with applications.
