We will remember them!

At 11.00 am on the 11th November 2018 the sound of a trumpet hailed the start of a special Remembrance Service in the grounds of Audley End House.

During WWII, Audley End House was the base of Section 43, the Polish SOE (Special Operations Executive) where Polish soldiers were trained and parachuted back, to continue their fight, into enemy occupied Poland.

REVI and members of the Polish community of Saffron Walden, gathered by the Polish war memorial in the grounds of Audley End House to lay wreaths and pay tribute to both the Polish SOE and all those who sacrificed their lives fighting in all the wars. 
The year 2018 also marks 100 years of Polish Independence. Following the end of the First World War and after spending 123 years divided amongst the three neighbouring powers, Poland regained its sovereignty on 11th November 1918.

We will remember those who gave their tomorrow for our today.

At 2.00 pm on the 11th November in Braintree & Bocking Public Gardens, REVI joined The Royal British Legion along with dignitaries and other organisations, laying a wreath on behalf of the Polish Community in Braintree to remember those who fought and died in all the wars.

We will remember them.
