On 8th September 2018, Polish tastes took over the band stand at George Yard in Braintree with a vibrant selection of Polish businesses showcasing their cultural heritage.

REVI, a local charity promoting diversity, has been organising this annual event since 2014, making 2018 its 5th successive year!

With a record breaking number of exhibitors this year, the public got a chance to taste freshly-baked Polish cakes, traditional foods and sample famous Polish sausages. Other exhibitors showcased unique handmade personalised gifts, health & beauty products, designer children’s shoes, insurance services and even the children had an activity table where they could colour in traditional Polish motifs. Braintree Library was also part of Polish Day promoting the diversity of the services they have available and signing up a record number of members in one day!

The day itself would not have been complete without giving the public an opportunity to enjoy & admire one of Poland’s most well recognised traditional costumes from the region of Kraków.

Polish Day helps improve awareness and brings the community together, showing a side of the Polish inhabitants of Braintree/Essex that would not have been noticed otherwise.
